Kite Festival on Fuerteventura, Canary Islands
Summer is approaching, so a look back to a chance discovery on the Canary Islands. My hotel had a poster for the International Kite Festival or "festival international de Cometas". The sight was amazing, on Playa del Burro, a 10 minute walk away from Corralejo. The wind was constant, coming off the Atlantic Ocean onto the beach, about 60 miles west of the African coast. The island in the far distance is Lanzarote, a 10 minute ferry ride away.
